23th July 2024, Kuala Terengganu – Meeting of Quality Management Council  - Public University (MPQ-UA) No. 3/2024 held at Sultan Zainal Abidin Hospital (HoSZA), Teregganu on 23th July 2024 was attended by service and academic quality management heads from 20 public universities (UA) and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) officials. While UPM was represented by Miss Aidawati Ramali, Head of Programme Data Section, Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) and Prof. Associate Dr. Suriana Sabri, Deputy Director, Centre for Academic  Development and Leadership Excellence (CADe-Lead). The MPQ-UA meeting is a platform for UA representatives to share experiences and best practices and discuss issues related to UA quality management and improvement. MQA and the Academic Excellence Division, Department of Higher Education (JPT), Ministry of Higher Education are also involved in MPQ meetings to provide views, advice and be a reference for UA. The meeting this time was chaired by Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Zainal bin Zakaria Director, Centre for Quality Assurance, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Among the essence of the discussion that touches the interests of UPM is related to the appointment of an external assessor where UPM had proposed that the MPQ-UA website to be a platform for the UA to share a list of  experienced assessor in programme audits as a reference for the UA to appoint an external assessor. Towards welcoming the arrival of all members of the meeting, the Strategic Planning, Risk & Quality Management Center (SPaRQM) of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin as the joint secretariat held a dinner at Elysium Hall, Drawbridge on 22nd July 2024.
