5th June 2026, Serdang - Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) had successfully collaborated with the Regional Research Center for Asia and the Pacific (RRC.AP) to host a high-impact, non-profit virtual webinar in conjunction with World Environment Day via Zoom Meeting platform. Broadcasted digitally from UPM's campus to an international audience that included staff and students from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), the event operated under the strategic theme "Climate Action: From Classroom to Regional Impact". The programme was delivered through two sequential twenty-minute plenary presentations, each followed by a dedicated ten-minute interactive Q&A session designed to bridge academic policy with practical field application. Dr. Zufarzaana Zulkeflee, the Academic Quality Assurance Deputy Director of CQA, opened the sessions by explaining how UPM systematically integrates Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) 2.0 competencies directly into university curricula. Broadening the scope to a macro level, Mr. Huno Solomon Kofi Mensah, the Head of Climate Change at RRC.AP, presented empirical data focused on accelerating climate adaptation and mitigation strategies across the Asia-Pacific region. By seamlessly linking institutional educational mandates with real-world environmental data, this joint initiative successfully established a collaborative knowledge-sharing network designed to inspire and cultivate a proactive climate-action mindset among the next generation of regional leaders.
