IQAF Understanding Training and Achievement Level Rubric

 

13th July 2026, Serdang – Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with the Public University Quality Management Council (MPQ-UA) organized a Training on Understanding the Institutional Quality Audit Framework (IQAF) and IQAF Achievement Level Rubric on 13 July 2026 at Mini Auditorium 1, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Building, UPM.

The implementation of the training under the Institutional Audit Section, Academic Quality Assurance aims to provide understanding to self-accredited universities regarding the use of  the Institutional Quality Audit Framework  (IQAF) which was launched by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on 17 December 2025 by inviting the IQAF Standard Writer, Prof. Ts. Dr. Syamsul Nor Azlan Mohamad who is also the Director, Academic Assessment and Evaluation Division (BPPA), Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam.

Before the training session began, Associate Professor Dr. Noor Syamilah Zakaria, Director of UPM CQA as Head of the MPQ-UA Training Committee, delivered a welcoming speech while at the end of the training session, Deputy Chairman of MPQ-UA, Professor Dr. Azura A. Rashid was invited to deliver a closing speech.

The implementation of this training has successfully gathered 74 people from 11 Higher Education Providers (PPT). There were 66 participants from 8 Public Universities consisting of UPM (39 people), UTeM (3 people), UKM (3 people), IIUM (6 people), UPSI (2 people), USM (7 people) and UM (3 people). While 3 Private Universities also sent 8 participants consisting of Taylor's University (4 people), Multimedia University (3 people) and Curtin University (1 person).

Through this training, it is hoped that participants from Public Universities (UA) will be able to strengthen their understanding of the criteria and standards as well as IQAF rubrics to serve as a guide for UAs who will be submitting new applications or will be undergoing self-accreditation status compliance in the future.
