Training for the Internal Assessment Panel (IAP) - New Changes in the Curriculum

 
23 December 2025, Serdang  –  Inauguration Exercise of the Internal Expert Assessment Panel (APP) - New Changes in the Curriculum recommended by the Institutional Audit Section, Academic Quality Assurance, Center for Quality Assurance (CQA) has witnessed the participation of 38 Academic Employees (33 people present physically and 5 people online) consisting of APP Dalaman who have been appointed as program audit panels. The training session held on 23 December 2025 at Mini Auditorium 1, Deputy Chancellor Building (Research and Innovation), UPM was delivered by Prof. Madya Dr. Noor Syamilah Zakaria, KB, PA (CQA Director) and Dr. Zufarzaana Zulkeflee (Deputy Director of CQA Academic Quality Assurance).
 
Among the contents of the exercise is explaining the current status of UPM Internal APP inaugurations after the Malaysian Eligibility Agency (MQA) made new decisions regarding the inauguration of external APPs by universities with self-accredited status for the assessment of Provisional Accreditation, Full Accreditation and Maintenance/Compliance Audits starting June 20 2024.
 
Apart from that, also shared are the findings of the external APP during the assessment of the UPM accreditation program carried out in 2025 and the latest MQA regulations as well as new changes in the curriculum which aims to enable participants to take the opportunity to carry out continuous improvements to their respective programs. Through this training session, it was also explained the direction of UPM internal APPs if they were interested in being appointed as APPs by other universities.
 
In fact, the inclusion of UPM's internal APP in this training session provides a positive sign of the willingness and potential of academic residents to continue to contribute as Expert Assessment Panels in assessing accredited programs and improving the university curriculum.
