21st November 2025, Serdang –Universiti Putra Malaysia has carried out the Surveillance Audit 1 for the Quality Management System (QMS) MS ISO 9001:2015 and the Information Security Management System (ISMS) ISO/IEC 27001:2022 by SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. This audit aims to assess UPM's continued compliance with the requirements of the standards set by the certification body. This audit, which lasted for 5 days from 22 to 26 September 2025, involved 40 PTJ as an audit sample. A total of 10 QMS auditors led by Puan Siti Rahmah Ahmad and 2 ISMS auditors led by Cik Nur Fatin E,zzati Masruhaizan have audited in this session.

The Audit Closing Meeting was held at the Dewan Senat, Bangunan Canselori Putra and was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of UPM, YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah. The meeting was also attended by Management Representatives, University Management Committee Members and representatives of the Responsibility Center (PTJ).

Overall, the audit team was satisfied with the implementation of QMS and ISMS at UPM. UPM has successfully passed the audit and the report was presented by the Audit Team Leader of the SIRIM QMS and ISMS during the Closing Meeting with a recommendation to continue certification *without amendments after the non-conformity report was satisfactorily closed for ISO 9001:2015 QMS and recommended to continue certification *with amendments for ISO/IEC 27001:2022 ISMS after the non-conformity report was satisfactorily closed. The amendments are on the upgrade to ISO/IEC 27001:2022. The commitment from the Management and all UPM staff towards the implementation of QMS and ISMS is the main strength in ensuring that UPM’s objectives and KPIs are achieved.
