23rd June 2026, Serdang – Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in collaboration with the Quality Management Council-Public Universities (MPQ-UA) organized a Sharing Session on Values-Based Education (VBE): Implementation @UPM on 23 June 2026 via the Zoom Meeting platform. The implementation of Values-Based Education in the development and delivery of programs is in line with the requirements of the MQF 2nd Edition 2024 and the National Education Philosophy. The implementation of VBE, which will come into effect on 1 August 2026, is hoped to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent, but also strong in terms of character and human values. The webinar session, which was conducted by Ms. Aidawati Ramali, Head of the Institutional Audit Section, Academic Quality Assurance, invited Associate Professor Dr. Noor Syamilah Zakaria, Director of UPM CQA as Head of the MPQ-UA Training Committee to deliver a welcoming speech and was followed by the Deputy Chairman of MPQ-UA, Professor Dr. Azura A. Rashid to deliver the opening speech. Immediately afterwards, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Wan Zuhainis Saad, Director, Centre for Academic Leadership Development and Excellence (CADe-Lead), who is a VBE expert at UPM, was invited to deliver a sharing. This webinar was attended by 71 people from 16 public universities and also received an encouraging response from community colleges and polytechnics with 52 participants from 21 institutions. For the record, the display on the zoom screen recorded 299 participants while 123 attendances were recorded. |
