2nd March 2023, Serdang - The Center for Quality Assurance (CQA) in collaboration with the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International) organized the Putra ODL Launching Ceremony and the UPM ODL Programme Quality Assurance Handbook at the Agriculture Hall, Faculty of Agriculture UPM. The ceremony was officiated by Professor Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International) UPM. This programme was attended by 129 UPM staffs consisting of Deans, Deputy Deans (Academic) for both Undergraduate and Graduate , Heads of Faculty/School Departments and ODL Coordinators.

The Center for Quality Assurance  (CQA) has coordinated the publication of the UPM ODL Programme Quality Assurance Handbook for the purpose of reference and guidance to faculties/schools and the Responsibility Center (PTJ) that will offer, manage and monitor the ODL programme at UPM in accordance with the standard requirements of the Code of Practice for Programme Accreditation: Open and Distance Learning (COPPA:ODL)) (2019). This UPM ODL handbook can be referred via UPM ISO Management System, e-ISO in the form of an e-book.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the programme continued with a series of briefings and workshops under the UPM Academic Programme Transformation (TPA) 2023  with an initial focus on the implementation of the ODL programme at UPM. The session was conducted by UPM ODL Specialists and the Center for Academic Development as follows: 

The implementation of this first series of workshops is very significant for all program owners to understand the requirements of the COPPA:ODL (2019) standard and further determine the appropriate academic program to be offered as ODL .

Indeed, UPM, as a self-accredited university, continues to be committed in proving the stability and maturity of the quality assurance aspects of UPM's academic programmes via continuous strengthening and improvement of the academic quality assurance system implemented in line with the country's higher education needs.
