24th May 2024, Serdang –Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) through the Center for Quality Management and Assurance (PPPK) held a benchmarking visit to the Center for Quality Assurance (CQA), Universiti Putra Malaysia on Friday, 24th May 2024. A delegation of fourteen people led by Dr. Mohamad Nor bin Hassan (Deputy Director of PPPK) and also joined by lead and deputy leads of Internal Auditors for QMS, ISMS and Academic Quality as well as PPPK staff. The visit aims to gain knowledge in quality management as well as sharing the best practices practiced at the UPM in the context of the implementation of ISO and academic internal audit management systems from several aspects such as selection and appointment of internal auditors, audit scheduling system and audit period, report management of Nonconformities (NCR) and OFI and Training to internal auditors. The sharing session by CQA was shared and presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Syamilah Zakaria (Deputy Director of Academic Quality Assurance) and Mrs. Haslida binti Hassan (Deputy Director of Service Quality Assurance) and attended by Miss Aidawati Ramali (Head of Program Data Section), Mrs. Rahmawati Umar (Head of Program Audit Section) and Mrs. Zenaida binti Md Zenon (Head of Quality Audit Section). The session started with a briefing on the implementation and management of ISO as well as the implementation and management of academic quality and was followed by a question-and-answer session and a discussion between the two Universities. Overall, this two-hour discussion session had a positive impact on both Universities as they were able to share information and exchange views on the practice and management of academic quality and management quality and the best and appropriate to be implemented in their respective Universities.
