24th February 2026, Serdang - The Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) held the 65th UPM Quality Committee Meeting at the Senate Hall, Putra Chancellery Building, UPM and was broadcast via Google Meet with UPM Sarawak and the International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (I-AQUAS), Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Noor Syamilah Zakaria, K.B., P.A., Director, Centre for Quality Assurance cum Representative of UPM Management chaired the meeting. As an introduction, the Chairman presented a brief summary of the Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) motto “Relying on Quality, Strengthening Legacy” which was adopted in conjunction with the CQA Decade Celebration on 11 November 2025. The Chairman also emphasized the importance of the role of the UPM Administrator as UPM's Quality Agent in implementing the trust and responsibility, through alignment with the Malaysian Higher Education Plan 2026-2035 and the UPM Strategic Plan 2026-2030 as intended by the Vice-Chancellor, UPM through the UPM Vice-Chancellor's Message for 2026 which was delivered on 30 January 2026. The meeting welcomed the presence of 3 new members who are Deputy Representatives of the Process Lead Management/Responsibility Center (TWP PP/PTJ), namely Mrs. Rozi Tamin (Deputy Director of Service Quality Assurance, CQA), Mrs. Maizatul Afzan Tajul Ariffin (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology) and Mr. Muizzudin Kaspol (Sultan Abdul Samad Library) with a welcome and hoping for the best commitment in assisting quality management at the PTJ and UPM levels. The meeting also recorded a speech of appreciation and thanks to former members, Mrs. Hjh. Haslida Hassan (Former Deputy Director of Service Quality Assurance, CQA) who retired on 25 December 2025 and Ms. Haslina Abu Seman@Talib (Former TWP PP, Sultan Abdul Samad Library) who was appointed as UPM's Chief Librarian effective from 5 January 2026 to 25 April 2027. The meeting, which lasted three (3) hours, was held successfully in discussing UPM's quality agenda and examining related issues and actions which included aspects of ISO documentation, audit management for the Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001:2015 and Information Security Management System (ISMS) ISO/IEC 27001:2022, achievement of QMS and ISMS Quality Objectives, QMS and ISMS stakeholder feedback, ISO risk assessment, university training management and university records management. |
