Imagine this, you are pursuing your dream career, fulfilling your daily responsibilities, but your heart still beats to gain knowledge and improve your qualifications. How can you study without sacrificing your job, family time, or daily routine? The answer lies in Distance Learning (DLL), a smart way to further your education with maximum flexibility. PJJ means that classes are no longer confined to campus, lectures can be followed on weekends or from the comfort of one's own home, and assignments are arranged according to the student's time. This program opens up the opportunity for anyone to pursue their academic dreams without having to quit their jobs or disrupt their daily lives. In Malaysia, PJJ is not a new thing, on the contrary it has been introduced since 1971 according to the Deputy Registrar, Centre for Distance Education Studies, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Mohd Rashid Abdul Rejab. "Among today's graduates, these distance learning students are graduates who take longer in a slightly different distance learning mode compared to other students. "Therefore, most students already have careers, while there are also housewives and senior citizens. "The sacrifices of those who work and perhaps those who already have families can, to some extent, be the best example for others in pursuing their ambitions of continuing their studies," he told BH.

Pendidikan fleksibel He added that education is an important key towards not only unity, but also national progress. Almost 54 years after its introduction, the programme has recorded almost 200,000 alumni from 81 countries around the world, while the recent convocation ceremony also celebrated 692 RPJJ graduates. Apart from being a major contributor to the 'Malaysian Massive Open Online Course' effort, USM is now intensifying the offering of online courses that can be offered in a 'stackable' manner, focusing on specific skills through what is known as 'microcredentials'. "The sacrifices of those who work and perhaps those who already have families can, to some extent, be the best example for others in pursuing their ambitions of continuing their studies," he told BH. "The main concept of RPJJ is flexibility in access to the learning process which allows students to follow their studies from various locations," he said. |
Online learning Through PSM UUM, graduates can study and complete their studies while taking on the responsibilities of work, family and daily life. To date, UUM has produced 18,777 graduates since 2001, with 754 graduates receiving their degrees at the 38th convocation last year. He said that at PACE UUM, whether you want to pursue your studies to a higher level, obtain a professional certificate or follow a short course, PACE is always committed to providing flexible, quality and relevant programmes to current needs so that everyone can study without affecting their careers and daily lives. Apart from USM and UUM, other public universities that also offer similar programs include Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi MARA. |
