MQA recognizes UiTM as Micro-Credentials Quality Verification Centre


		Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) recorded a historic achievement when it received full approval from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) as a Quality Verification Centre (QVC) for the micro-credentials programme. The decision was approved at the MQA Lifelong Learning Assessment Committee Meeting on July 3, thus recognising UiTM's ability to ensure that flexible learning offerings meet set quality standards. Through this recognition, the management of UiTM's QVC is coordinated and led by the Institute for Quality and Knowledge Development (InQKA), which is responsible for the management of the university's academic quality assurance. Under the governance of InQKA, UiTM is mandated to conduct quality verification assessments for Stand-alone Micro-credentials (SAMC) starting from Certificate level (Level 3) up to Doctorate Degree (Level 8) in the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF).
		The recognition from MQA proves trust in the university's academic quality and governance. It is in line with UiTM's 2030 vision to place this university on the global stage through flexible, industry-relevant and inclusive education offerings for all levels of society," he said in a statement. He said that recognition as QVC also reflects UiTM's continued commitment in realizing the aspirations of the UiTM 2030 Strategic Plan (2026-2030), particularly in driving academic excellence and empowering lifelong learning. The recognition also allows UiTM to play a more important role in ensuring that the offering of short courses or micro-credentials in Malaysia meets the set quality standards. In addition, it is expected to facilitate the recognition of skills needed for the future, thus supporting efforts to upskill and reskill the local and international workforce.		This approach provides opportunities for the community to obtain education in a more flexible manner, covering various levels, from Certificate to Doctorate. UiTM said that this success also strengthens its role as a catalyst for the transformation of national education in producing knowledgeable, competitive and morally upright human capital. UiTM currently has 34 campuses, 24 faculties and nine academic centres across the country, in addition to offering more than 500 academic programmes covering Foundation, Pre-Diploma, Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's, PhD and professional programmes. In the QS World University Rankings 2026, UiTM is ranked 542nd in the world, while in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025, the university is ranked 101st in Asia. UiTM also has more than 700,000 alumni in the fields of science, technology, humanities and entrepreneurship.
