26th July 2024, Serdang - The Green Sustainability Committee of the Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA) had launch Used Cooking Oil Collection Programme to promote the culture of collecting oil among CQA staff towards supporting Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) green sustainability initiative. The collection of used oil has started on 19th July 2024 where CQA staff are encouraged to donate used cooking oil at the CQA Recycling Corner before selling it to company that operate used cooking oil. This programme provides knowledge on how to manage used cooking oil and awareness to CQA staff about sustainability efforts that can be implemented in daily life. This used cooking oil collection programme has indeed been a proactive step by various parties in and outside the country such as Petronas which has held a programme of this kind on a large scale in preparation to commercialize sustainable aviation fuel or sustainable aviation fuel  (SAF).
Pelancaran kempen Jom Kumpul Minyak Masak Terpakai telah disempurnakan oleh Timbalan Pengarah Bahagian Jaminan Kualiti Perkhidmatan, Puan Hajah Haslida Hassan.   The launch of the Let's Collect Used Cooking Oil campaign was completed by the Deputy Director of the Service Quality Assurance Division,  Hajah Puan Haslida Hassan.
CQA staff managed to collect 10 containers of cooking oil of various sizes and the proceeds from the sale of the cooking oil will be used for other green sustainability activities. It is hoped that this programme will continue to be a good practice among CQA staff towards contribute to green sustainability in Malaysia, especially UPM.
