The main purpose of this session is to inform the general performance of self-accredited HEPs throughout the awarding period as well as the latest developments regarding quality assurance, thereby giving space to self-accredited HEPs to directly obtain information related to MQA services. The MQA audit report has recorded one HEP scoring 90%, seven HEPs scoring 80%, six HEPs scoring 70%, two HEPs scoring 60% and two HEPs scoring 50%. In general, MQA has emphasised the importance and follow-up actions that need to be taken by HEPs to deal with the deteriorating performance issue for most HEPs with Self-Accreditation status based on the current assessment findings to maintain a score of 80% and above. MQA's hope for self-accredited HEPs to continue to comply with all policies and standards in force so that self-certified HEPs have an excellent reputation, are respected and serve as an example to other HEPs/agencies in and outside the country from all aspects, especially in relation to the quality of higher education.

The take-home message from this session is HEPs required to understand the meaning of self-accreditation status which is a prestige that needs to be protected and maintained and not as a privilege to boast and act as you please without complying with policies, standards and other regulations by authority. |
