28th January 2025, Serdang – Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) received a delegation from the Self-accreditation Centre, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) on 5th December 2024, led by Prof. Dr. Azura Abd. Rashid, as Director, USM Self-accreditation Centre. Also participating in this benchmarking visit were five (5) of her staff. The purpose of this visit is to share experiences related to processes, systems and documentation involving quality management and accreditation, as well as to build a collaborative network with universities that have self-accredited status.
The visit was facilitated by the Deputy Director of CQA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Syamilah Zakaria from Academic Quality Assurance and Pn. Hajah Haslida Hassan from Service Quality Assurance. Meanwhile, the presentation session was conducted by the Heads of Sections under Academic Quality Assurance consisting of Ms. Hajah Aidawati Ramali (Head of Program Data Section), Mrs. Rahmawati Umar (Head of Program Audit Section) and Mrs. Shaerin Azlin Ab Rahman (Head of Institutional Audit Section). Overall, this three-hour discussion session had a positive impact on both Universities as they were able to share information and exchange views on the best and most appropriate management and implementation of academic quality in their respective Universities. In addition, there was also a proposal from USM to conduct a benchmarking visit to Universiti Malaysia Sabah together with UPM CQA.
