Quality Management in Higher Education : CHAPTER 7 - The Words of Wisdom: Quality is in Every Aspects of Life

   

THE WORDS OF WISDOM: QUALITY IS IN EVERY ASPECTS OF LIFE 

 

A) Don’t assume perfection, but we have to work hard toward perfection.

We must not assume the we have achieve the level of PERFECTION which will make us to not to do anything more or better. Instead, we must aim for PERFECTION that will lead us    to strive for the best results, an utmost quality output and completeness of task.

 

B) Today must be better than yesterday, and tomorrow must be better than today.

We should observe the ever improving level of performance by learning the lesson from the previous endeavour, and experience the continual improvement day by day, month by month year by year and so on. If we are staying at the same position, it means that we are loosing to and left behind by the rest who are improving continuously.

 

C) The biggest room is room for improvement.

Efforts for improvement is limitless and without boundary. Opportunity for improvement may come from every angle, every scope of work, everyone and every time. Even the most relevant improvement efforts should come from every customers’ feedback, complaints, comments and suggestions.

 

 D) Quality is good but the aim should be always towards excellence.

Quality results is sufficient to make people satisfy but the target should be beyond satisfactory level. When everyone can deliver quality, it is not enough to gain competitive advantage and to sustain the high level of performance for a longer period of time.

 

E) We gain from quality but the rest are the beneficiaries.

Generally, the quality objectives is to increase revenue, improve market share, enhance    better image and reputation and ultimately gaining higher profitability. However, in the end, the so many parties will benefit including the customer, users, vendors, industry, community and the relevant authorities.

 

F) The hardware is to measure quality but the software is to deliver it.

The combination of the hardware (tools and techniques) and the software (people and management systems) is crucial to ensure successful implementation of every quality initiatives. Quality control and monitoring usually require the hardware to indicate the effectiveness of the quality management objectives , and the employee and customer need to interact with the systems to execute process as designed.

 

G) Quality is a part of human nature and norms

Naturally, every individuals will prefer and to choose quality product, elegance looking, good service, prompt response, speedy delivery, and functional things when making buying decision and evaluating possible options. Those are the elements of quality criteria and undeniably the    normal features of humankind universally. There is no reason for anyone who cannot understand, accept and appreciate any quality initiatives and program.

 

H) Pleasant living with quality of life

Everybody want to have enjoyable and happy in life by experiencing the activities that inline with own personal passion, preference and meaningful life. All of this can be achieved when we are engaged in an organization that concern for quality in every activities and conducive working environment. This will then lead us to enjoy our self at work place, personal activities and quality family time.
